Wesley Chapel Bulls Mission Statement is to provide the youth in our community with a positive and enjoyable experience in Football and Cheerleading. Winning is important, but winning is not the sole measure of success. Emphasis will also be placed on the development of self-discipline, team unity, and good sportsmanship, building positive self-esteem and encouraging leadership within our young athletes.    |

(UPDATE) January 15, 2012 There have been quite a few questions regarding the start of our Spring 8 on 8 Tackle football season. We would like to use this opportunity to answer some of the most common. Is it too late to register for Spring 8 on 8 Football? Registration has ended for the Mitey-Mite, Pee Wee, and Super Midget teams. Registration will continue up until the third week of play (3/3/12) for Midget and Varsity teams only. Is it possible to pay my registration fee in person? You may pay your registration fee at the time of equipment checkout. Where do I get the medical and liability wavier forms and who do I turn them in to? All wavier forms will be available for you to complete at equipment checkout. What happens at equipment checkout? At equipment check out you will complete all remaining necessary paperwork; have a preliminary weigh-in (omitted for players of exempt ages); be issued a helmet, shoulder pads, game pants and pads, a practice jersey, and mouthpiece; meet your coach and obtain the practice schedule. When is equipment checkout? The first equipment checkout is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 9am until Noon. To simplify the process each division will be given a specific time to arrive. My son has never played tackle football before, is spring a good time to start? Anytime is a good time to start when you are playing with the Bulls! While spring is still a competative season, we focus on teaching the fundamental skills each player needs to become better at the game. Where will practice for spring football take place? Practice will take place at the Wesley Chapel District Park, 7727 Boyette Road, Wesley Chapel, FL. Due to our normal football fields being unavailable, we will hold practice in the park area just behind the new concession stand. Special thanks to Coach Kevin Barber for securing the portable lights necessary to make all of this possible. Although this system is very expensive to obtain and operate, coach Kevin worked with one of his business contacts whom together made it their goal to have nothing stand in the way of us having a successful 8 on 8 football season. January 14, 2012 Please take time to review the FSYFL playing rules as well as all of the rule changes for the 2012 season. If you have never played 8 on 8 football before you will note a few differences from fall 11 man football. Just a few of the key differences are: 1. The game will consist of two continuous 22 minute halves with a five minute halftime. 2. The clock will be continuously running,only stopping for team and/or referee time outs. 3. The playing field will be forty yards wide and eighty yards long, with two ten yard end zones. 4. The methods of scoring and their value:Touchdown 6 points. There are NO field goals. Extra Point values are: 1 point for a RUN from the 5 yd line, and 2 Points for a PASS from the 5 yd line. 5. The FSYFL as an organization does NOT have any minimum play rules. The number of plays that a given player receives is entirely up to the coach of the given team. Feel free to read through the various rules of the league to become more familiar with the method of play. January 14, 2012 Official Spring Football practice begins Monday January 16, 2012. The practice schedule will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm just as the regular fall season. All practices will be held at the Wesley Chapel District Park located at 7727 Boyette Road, Wesley Chapel, FL. Howeve, due to the Soccer and Lacross having field priority, the spring football league will practice in the grass area just to the south of the new concession stand. Home games will be on Saturdays at the Zephyrhills Bulldogs Field located at 39835 Chancey Road, Zephyrhills, FL. Calling ALL potential coaches! We are looking for those of you who would like to coach or be an assistant coach during spring football. If you have ever considered coaching, now is the time to step up. If you would like to head or assist coach please fill out and submit a Coaches application. Participant registration has begun so sign up as soon a possible!Still have questions? November 30, 2011 Congratulations to ALL the Bulls teams that attended the 9th Annual Open Team Championship Tournament! Seniors and JV teams both were 2-2 for the weekend, while the Mighty Mites (Pee Wee) were 2nd place runner up. Saturday, November 26, 2011 - The Mighty Mites put on a heck of a show Saturday night as they ended in a 3-way tie record of 3-1. That placed them in a three way shoot out against two of the toughest teams there, the Midway Atlanta Wildcats and The Hudson Cobras. ...continued November 19, 2011 The Wesley Chapel Bulls Cheerleaders represented our organization very well at the 2011 MFFCC Cheer Off. The competition took place Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland Florida. These young ladies tumbled and shouted their way to high placements in each of their perspective divisions. The Lady Bulls placed 3rd in the Jr. Tumbling Classic division and 1st in the Sr. Tumbling Novice division and we?re all very proud them. Their hard work and dedication has been rewarded with the high competition honors they so much deserve. Keep up the great work ladies and again CONGRATULATIONS! |
